I'm Audrey, and I hope you enjoy my blog :)Audreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12624207168273777817noreply@blogger.comBlogger52125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7607912849172337394.post-47653689396111581262013-06-15T09:30:00.000-07:002013-07-05T06:40:44.179-07:00Life of Twenty-two.Well, another birthday has passed, and I only feel a tad bit older. I am not the so-called wild, wondrous 21 year old that has just fully blossomed into a young adult, but the still-wondrous but adaptive 22 year old that now feels like she has found some-what of a place in the real world. That was a run-on sentence, let me tell you. Anyway, I have found myself in the work scene at the university library as well as the public library. People consider me a librarian I suppose, but that is far from the truth. You actually have to have a masters degree in the library sciences (yes, it is a real thing) to be fully considered a librarian. I do not have the degree or the knowledge to even meet what I consider to be a great librarian. All the same, I am very pleased to have my jobs, and I only wonder what is going to come next in this little life of mine. Maybe I will go on to the major university of the state I reside and become a librarian? Maybe I will go to Kentucky and study art therapy? Who knows, because I sure don't.
Tonight will be the celebration of my birthday with my family, as I was unable to see them on my birthday this past Tuesday. We will go to a German restaurant, as I am trying to influence my life with German culture and practice the language. I am a bit nervous. I want to speak German to the waiters, as I know they are native, but I don't want to sound so silly. I have a pretty good German accent, but sometimes I get so confused with what words to use. German grammar is pretty tough! At least for me it is. Are there any Germans who read my blog? I would very much like to have a German pen-pal to write to.
In other news, I visited my best-friend Gabby last weekend in Georgia. It was very hot and humid (as most of the South is), but it was also lovely. Before we left for Georgia, Gabby and I exchanged birthday gifts since my birthday was coming up and hers was at the end of May. She bought for me this cute little tote bag that had a flower design on it (which I use to keep my necessary toiletries in), a beautiful red rose candle (I love roses!), and a little floral bat key chain. Yes, you read that right. A bat. Eine Fledermaus. She always knows what to buy me! I love flowers and bats! So do you know what I did with Flower (that is her name)? She dangles on the side of my camera, and I call her Meine Fotografie Fledermaus. That is where she resides. Anyway, on to the trip! The town in which Gabby, her boyfriend, and his family resides is a college-town, so we had the chance to take an unofficial tour of the campus. Of course I went to the library! It was so big, and I loved it so much. The walls were painted in all of these pastel summery colors, and it just made the atmosphere very positive and vibrant. The campus actually has a little nature-trail as well, which I thought was pretty nifty. Both Gabby and I love nature, so we were very spritely about that. I took some practice photos of the leaves and the trees, which I will publish in later time. Other things we took upon ourselves to do was to go to this little comic-book shop off the square, where I found a Little Lulu comic! I was so excited, as I collect Little Lulu memorabilia. We also went to Books-A-Million, where I found a personal birthday gift for myself.

I will post the rest of the photos I took of the trip possibly tomorrow. Gabby and I also had fun with our cameras before we left for Georgia, so we were taking pictures of each other and all the neat little things that entailed within her grandmother's home.
I suppose that will be all for today, as I have so much on my mind, and when I am in this state it is very hard for me to write. How ironic. Most writers do so because of the very fact that they do have so much on their mind. Not me! Nope.

I have so many thoughts running around through my head, and try as I might to organize them, I come up empty-handed. I have a diary, a Tumblr blog, a prayer journal, and this blog, and I still usually just describe myself through pictures. I am a very visual person, and I have always felt that I could let photos of things that I like "speak" for me. Maybe that's a reason why I get really anxious when I have to talk to other people, or that I forget words that I want to use in conversation even though I know a great deal of descriptive words.
I always tell people that I can't speak very well (I stutter quite a bit, forget words, dyslexic talking, whathaveyou), but I can definitely reveal a lot more about myself through writing. On the contrary, I have a lot to say, but I don't know how to express my words in an effective way. Frustration overcomes me when speaking to other people, and at the same time my thoughts all weave together and leave me in a blubbering mess. Please tell me I am not the only one like this! I have had people interrupt me in mid-thought to tell a story of their own because I was too preoccupied on trying to say what was on my mind eloquently. That is one of the reasons why I am so quiet around people, and even when I do talk people can barely hear me. Another reason why I am quiet is because I like to listen to people speak more than I like to talk. Plus, I'm shy. I am the quiet observer that has much to say and strong convictions, but comes out sounding like an imbecile when she opens her mouth. Anyway...
I have recently friends with a girl named Callie on Tumblr. She is so sweet and intelligent, and I love talking with her. She seems so interesting. I hope the friendship lasts, as I feel we have much in common and great potential. We can only speak through Tumblr for the time being, but that is okay. If you would like to visit her blog, it is called Lighthouse and Pinetrees. It's such a lovely little blog. For those of you who love nature, poetry, intellectual thinkers, and mellow photography, this is your girl! She has a lot to say as well. I actually found her blog when she started to follow another Tumblr blog of mine, Sophie and The White Rose. A little creep that I am, I am always interested in browsing other people's blogs that have at least a little something in common with me...especially if they're interested in an obsession of mine. More on that later. Anyway, I was looking through her blog, and her personal entries spoke to me. The way she sees and feels about things are very much like the way I do. Also, the calm atmosphere of her blog soothed me.
I am going to end this entry today with a photo I took this past weekend of flowers and such. I hope you enjoy your day.

"Leave it to God. It is an astonishing thought. It can become a life-transforming thought … unclench the fists of your spirit and take it easy … What deadens us most to God’s presence within us, I think, is the inner dialogue that we are continuously engaged in with ourselves, the endless chatter of human thought. As you guys know (at least those who have been keeping up with me), I have always been known as 'A Lotta Girl, A Lotta Style.' Well, thinking about it, I don't really have that much style, but I do have a lot of creativity! Why not wrap the contents of my blog around my everyday mind? I feel that would be in the best interest for all of us. I kind of feel like I have been hiding myself from you guys with my former website persona. I'm not a fashionista (HOWEVER, I adore clothes in the worst way.) I don't know why I would portray myself to be anything but myself: artsy, unique, crafty, nerdish, and so many other traits. So here is my website makeover: I'm going to transform my blog to portray myself how I want to be shown! I hope you guys enjoy the change, and I hope you get an insight on who I really am. For starters, I am going to add the beautiful photos I took of my mother's garden the other day.

For the photo effects, I have used the filters on Instagram, Path, and Pixlr-O-Matic and sometimes even in unison. For the bright coral roses, I used the filter Peter on Pixlr-O-Matic. I felt that it complimented the color of the flowers quite well.
My mother has a beautiful garden, and I am just so proud of her for creating a wonderful mixture of color and flower.

The sky was so heavenly that day! I don't understand why people feel disdain toward cloudy days. You can just sit back and watch them as they slowly pass by, and you may even see a cat or a butterfly!

I have been pondering for a while now about possibly being a boutique owner. I've thought about the kinds of things I would sell, the music I would play, what kind of building I would want my boutique to be in, everything. The only thing I am still unsure about is how to go about owning my own business. I have been reading blogs such as A Beautiful Mess, and others like hers who own there own creative business, and it has inspired me immensely. I'm going to save up for these two e-courses to get me started on thinking seriously about this:

1. DREAMjob by A Beautiful Mess

2. Indie Compass by Indie Business

Hopefully that will help me be more aware of the steps I need to take before becoming my own boss. I am a psychology major, and I haven't taken any business courses, but I may when I go on to university. Wish me luck! I will be writing more and more about this topic in the future.

Quote of the Day
"Do one thing everyday that scares you." - Eleanor Roosevelt

Picture of navy shoes via Sunshine and PearlsAudreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12624207168273777817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7607912849172337394.post-58716007804058282222012-01-13T12:39:00.000-08:002012-01-15T09:20:49.241-08:00My January 2010 Shopping ListI know this is a totally random post, but I need to write my ideas down ASAP, and a notebook sometimes doesn't cut it.

My January shopping list will include:

1. For those of you who do not know what 'vlogging' is, it's basically like blogging, only you record yourself via webcam or any other portable video device. I bought my Webcam C110 from Wal-Mart today, and it is successfully installed so I am excited to start my very first vlog post today!
I'm probably going to start of with an introductory video, but I haven't a single clue how I'm going to go about this... I know what you're thinking, "How hard can it be to introduce yourself?!" Well, I just don't want to go on a rambling rampage of things that will probably scare off the viewers. So if you don't mind, I will be writing a few key-points and questions of what I'm going to say on video. Those of you who are just beginning to vlog can use this as well if they want. Ha.

1. My name... Duh, it's Audrey. I'm not going to give out my full name though.
2. Where I live? Nah, I'll just say I'm from the South. Maybe that I was born in Alabama.
3. What I like to do: Draw cartoons, write, read, listen to music, hang out with friends... Normal things. Oh, except for obsessing over insane asylums every single damn day and going onto Ebay wishing I had every single asylum postcard.
4. Describe my history: Ah... I might improvise on that. I might tell the viewer's that I was born with this serious disease called Hirschsprung's Disease and how the major thing that ended it all was a seizure. As I am religious though, I believe this was a miracle. It happened the same time I was being baptized. I might tell them that high-school was alright for me, as incredibly boring as that would be.. I didn't have any bullies, people liked me fine, I didn't get into fights (okay, there were a few exceptions, but nothing really dramatic happened).
5. My major accomplishments: Beating Hirschsprung's and heart surgery, winning various HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) competitions, being in two school plays (one where I was the leading role), graduating high school... Wow, I'm a little boring.
6. I'm teaching myself how to play the piano? All I know is part of Moonlight Sonata from Beethoven, the first part of Chopin's Prelude in E-Minor Op. 28, No. 4, and my rendition of the guitar solo in Comfortably Numb. I'm still proud of myself though nevertheless.

7. I went to Athens, Ohio last summer (OH YEAH. I need to post those pictures). To see...guess what? An old insane asylum. The Athens State Hospital, ladies and gentlemen. I also went to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to see Bryce Hospital and Bolivar, Tennessee to see the Bolivar/Western State Hospital. Those are pictures I need to post as well..
8. My favorite movies: Anything that makes me think (with the exception of Austin Powers and Dumb & Dumber). I like movies such as A Beautiful Mind, The Others, Pearl Harbor, Titanic, Schindler's List, Girl Interrupted, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, 1000's more. I love horror movies except for most violent ones. I'm more of a ghost, paranormal, psychological thriller type horror-movie-fan. I hate Hostel and Saw movies, they make me sick. My empathetic-self cannot handle those types of movies. I also do not like to see the insulin/electric shock therapy scenes in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, A Beautiful Mind, or Frances, but I make exceptions as they are more interesting to me than playing a torture game.
9. I'm very random? I know my bog says 'A Lotta Girl, A Lotta Style', but my blog is not a "fashion" blog. I love fashion though, don't get me wrong. I'm so random and disorganized, I hardly ever blog. I'm sorry for that. I'm also pretty nerdy. I love nerdy jokes. I'm terrible at math, but I can pick up a math joke so quickly that it's not even funny. How weird is that? Anyway... I'm secretly crazy. Except for those who notice my strange little ways and just stare at me. The only people who know about my insanity are my parents, my best friends, my boyfriend, and his family. It's more of an eccentric/quirky insanity more than it is a mental illness (also with a few exceptions.) << Is that grammatically correct?

Since the beginning of this disgust, I have hoped that in the years to come some epiphany of some sort would smack those who further this idea into reality-check oblivion so that the image beauty would become less distasteful and unhealthy.
With your help, hopefully we can get the message across to congress on how this idea is causing women and girls all over the country to suffer about their body image. It's called 'The Self Esteem Act,' and by signing this petition, you will have helped the fight against the media and society vs. women.

Please read the information about the petition, and if you're a stickler to your sources as I am, disregard the NEDA.org, as it is a website for the New England Dressing Association and not the National Eating Disorder Association.
Audreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12624207168273777817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7607912849172337394.post-50835012113222564912011-07-16T22:13:00.000-07:002011-07-16T22:22:50.732-07:00I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 for the second time tonight...

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqZY803HUGozJLriXRHPO9dCF4v5eV-APtYOmvmjBBaxJO6w_rsjoFQBiiCfskdTFnyrpoKia9aDw5gip-xrWpbz2Fdp_YomnI4Rc8Ng1YgS9MH5mdeBcWMVSjxIzkwmflEFxKet1dp0rj/s400/46120306_sZ160iIt_c.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5630187168642250258" />

I LOVE that movie! So here we go!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1ExqeVA3iYMklLvVRKAp0Lg4yh5EOLa1n4DdYuNT-gFyunP_6DQVMhlyxk98mG2v1OP9txy3E-V1Xp1tHUuPYW2HWqEPEwEiUtRKdTwANLaK6JEwm2PKPkhmuSH2QZT72We53G0hcbBai/s400/14176487_8L4OMCKv_c.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5629804753542763986" />

I love turquoise, and I love things that make you look like you're not about to strain your back or give you a leg cramp. The earrings are beautiful! Earrings are a big thing for me, especially dangly-earrings. The purse is absolutely adorable, and I wish I could tell you where you could buy these things, but I found this little number on pinterest.com. This whole outfit is too cute!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 288px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4-J42Z6ZtafY7OE0SWukMZJYpIggR4-p0CZX1onQ3VJ0U1s3gZWK3qJIfp0TykkYFgA2DMM9kRUWyfsElH9rWu-KRPC9P25k-CkCLcFTF6_PyE0frg8WqvgQ8NwbVOMAIVOpTtWe_oCOu/s400/19092355_cVGlqdGv_c.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5629806219379685842" />

I love tiny stripes like this dress has, and it especially looks cute in green! I'm not big on it being strapless, as I am self-conscious about my upper arms, but I would still wear it. Nevertheless, it's adorable.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 308px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyYKdfhP7KFl00fQt50PFEEbu9TTnZBvCEfAQJTLOizzfZBQclV1JdZcv1fcF0Xu2s4YJu_BVd9im1dTq1imqhc4YKRSxCDaII0aDpsjN6kww6Uw__8g1kubu_pQiXipEZxTANcT51ftv4/s400/12711802_ib6a6Z7O_c.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5629807264129670642" />

I love her hair, I always thought long bangs were very cute. I also love her dress (I love baby-doll dresses).

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 220px; height: 305px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQmd9El0yl3RnjzbuZ1mNDPXR-KY-8OMVxJ2PilUeAVq8oqdWQUHR4Y0RCVvE37rd3GpEnKdTQTef_VK9bCPSReiNkuoVHfHBoGrn3OhDOyi7srUtbOR_O21l4sl2KgSiZsmtcivA1EWEF/s400/24371047_0oYhPW6e_c.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5629807903915842930" />

Again, big on the tiny stripes! They are orange too, which are perfect because I could wear them over white lacy tights to a University of Tennessee game! I've been seeing shorts like these around a lot, so I think I'm going to snatch a pair before the summer is up. With a pair of lacy white tights in the process, haha :)

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 331px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEietgoDyZo7y6o0jxo-Iy2DBy5qPPdtQigEuy2lhctoApZrSkB6wNiCyol15_8vq1DhK9ZZ4cZ7fD159relzVfGV6AIdSmlVeFpllakHzhgDT5sJxqQJuKIOggbUUNYnVMp_09CR-dknTJV/s400/1298666_89Aw5Sr2_c.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5629808222662819186" />

I love all of them! I have a promise ring from my boyfriend Troy, so I always try to reserve the only ring finger I have to that ring. Haha, a little random fact. Anyway, I'm all for rings, especially smaller ones. Big ones are pretty too, but they tend to get on my nerves while I'm in class or whatever.Audreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12624207168273777817noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7607912849172337394.post-38079716417049821802011-07-15T19:08:00.001-07:002011-07-15T20:44:59.377-07:00Wow, it's been a while...

I'm sorry it's been so long since I have posted anything. I just haven't really been motivated to write much, I suppose. A few things have happened to me over the months I have had blogspotter's block!

I am now a beauty consultant for Mary Kay! I'm just now getting started, and I am still a little confused about the ropes, but hopefully in no-time I will be setting up parties and ordering regularly. I'm excited about this because I have been wanting to do something like Mary Kay for a really long time!

I am now a sophomore in college, yay! I haven't signed up for my classes yet, but I'm still majoring in psychology. This semester I'll finally get to take abnormal psychology, which I have been excited about since I even became interested in mental disorders.

I cut my hair (yes, I did it) a couple of months back to a pixie-cut just to see how I would look. I didn't like it very much, but now that it has grown out a little I like it a lot better. I want to grow it out really long now, which will take another year-and-a-half to do (sigh...)

My Tumblr blog has been in full-swing for a while now, and you can go to it here: www.penguindelight.tumblr.com
I have a special section for things that inspire me fashion-wise!

My dad and I had to move from "The Farm" to another house in town. I'm not going to go into detail why we had to move, but it was a very sad experience. I had been in that house since I was almost a year old. I still miss it very much, and I hope one day to maybe get it back.

And for the best part that has happened to me: I finally went to Athens, Ohio to see the Athens State Hospital! My boyfriend Troy took me for my birthday, isn't he the greatest?
Athens was absolutely magical. I felt like I was at home, even though Troy and I had never been to Ohio before. It made me so happy, and it all seemed to be a really good dream that I actually didn't wake up from! I can't believe the anticipation is over now, though. I've been wanting to go to Athens for more than a year now, and I can't believe I've finally gone. It was all just too good to be true. I will have to post the picture I took soon after I transfer them from my camera to the computer. The Athens State Hospital (now the Kennedy Museum of Art) is a gorgeous building that has been taken care of fairly well by Ohio University. I was happy with that they have done to the place. We went into the art museum, and I was also satisfied to see that they had a plaque dedicated to the past of the building. It was originally a mental institution built under the Kirkbride Plan, and back in the day it was called the Athens Lunatic Asylum. I will be completely honest with you, I hardly looked at the art (although the jewelery and some paintings caught my eye). I was too busy looking around the building trying to imagine the bustle and mental air that was carried around the place when it was still a hospital. I wondered what each room was used for, and I was very tempted to pass the velvet rope that separated the unused part of the asylum to the renovated. I didn't though. After we walked around inside, we found the well-known cemetery on the campus and went a little ways down "The Ridges" nature trail. I almost cried just thinking of the reasons why those people were put into the asylum and all of the mental anguish they must have went through. The town of Athens was absolutely beautiful, and there was so much to do! I plan to go back again one day.

I noticed a comment from Arcadian that asked whether I have experienced anything paranormal. Yes, I have actually!

When I was eleven, my cousin Jessica and my aunt Cindy (both from my mother's side) came to visit us over the summer, and they both slept in my room with me. Well, I had this little porcelain rose jewelery-box that played, "My Favorite Things", when you opened it. During the early morning before Jessica and Cindy were going to go back home (maybe around 3:00-3:30 am), the little jewelery-box started playing the tune out of nowhere. We turned on the lights, and the box was open too! It wasn't any of us because we were all really groggy from being woken up from the music playing. My mom decided that it was my grandmother (her and Cindy's mother) who opened the jewelery-box to tell us that she was watching over us, and that she was happy that we were all together.

Then, when I was about eight or nine, my best friend at the time Crystal was over to spend the night. We were watching a Bugs and Daffy cartoon, and through the middle of it, it suddenly stopped and started rewinding. It was very strange.
All of this makes sense because we lived near a couple of cemeteries. My mom always felt a presence in the kitchen (as did I), and I always felt a presence in my former bedroom (before my dad and I switched rooms, and before we moved).

By the way, I am still going to be doing the Wednesday of Randomness segment!
I had this whole week off from classes. I need a break, and honestly, 5 days are not going to cut it. I need like 2 weeks! Helloo Christmas! I am ready :) I actually watched Elf the other day with Troy, and I am seriously thinking about getting a Sugar Cookie Blast from Sonic on my way home... If you haven't tried Sonic's Sugar Cookie Blast, you NEED to! It is amazing! It makes you wish Christmas was already here! I can't wait for Thanksgiving to be here! I will have to go on a diet after Thursday because I love Thanksgiving food soooo much! If I were to choose my 5 favorite Thanksgiving foods, they would be:

1) Pumpkin Pie
2) Greenbean Casserole
3) Ham
4) Dressing
5) Rice

Yes yes! Pumpkin Pie is a classic, and it's my absolute favorite pie all year-round (except maybe Pecan). That reminds me, have you tried the new Pumpkin Pie Poptarts?? They taste just like Pumpkin Pie! If you are a Poptart fan, I suggest going out and getting these :)
Today I'm a little tired...and bored, so without any ideas, I will do a day of randomness! Hmmm, how shall I start this?

Since I love photography so much! I'm going to assign a day of the week and post pictures on a theme! Today, Wednesday, will be the day!

Theme: Vintage Chic
And have absolutely fallen head over heels for is the Spanish/Southwestern trend that I have been seeing here and there! From embroidered boots, to frilly bright colored dresses and shirts, it's everywhere! I have a pair of boots in mind now, and I have actually asked for Christmas.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilu94LBgaAoR7ciBQYDKci8_cFZis9eBLOXtAT9C8-kToyYoL72Rh1VwolF78bm6yoNvUbLATrkoA0ibUQUcmsvgwfMVKquAgozyMCHCAGxuYaz6lGVbiAzHBRQxtZ3jVC5hOISC26yrln/s400/1_167025_FS.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5540358149892867778" />

Also, this trend is affiliated with South West America, and I love that area! The colors are breath taking, and the food is amazing! I've been through Arizona and New Mexico many many times before, but it is now where I have taken more notice to it. Color pallet includes: red, orange, agua, pink, brown, yellow, and bright purples. Embroidery is key, as so is triangular shapes.
But this month, it's Epilepsy Awareness Month!
If you don't know what epilepsy is, it's a seizure disorder. I don't have epilepsy, but I became interested in it one day when I was looking through my mother's 1970s medical book. It seemed so alien, almost like schizophrenia, and I am attracted to that kind of stuff. I want to help people with epilepsy and schizophrenia, so I might go into medical research, I'm not quite sure yet though, you know?

Show your support on epilepsy and wear a lot of lilac/lavender!
Anyways, have you ever felt like one day you knew exactly everything you were going to do, and then the next you have no idea? That's how I feel. Since I was 4-5 years old, I have always had my mind set up on the medical field. First, it was a "brain doctor", then when I was about 6 or so, I wanted to be a "kidney doctor" or a nephrologist. About 7th grade, however, I read about epilepsy and became fascinated with it! I decided from then on out I was going to be a neurologist. Then that changed from neurologist to neurosurgeon. Then to a neuroscientist. Something neurological anyways.
A couple of years ago was when I then set my mind on being an architect, but with still the intentions of being a neurosurgeron. I stayed on the internet all the time looking up old Victorian houses and abandoned buildings. I have always had a fascination on skyscrapers since September 11, 2001, and I thought that since I had a passion for it and I had good art skills (but my math skills suck, haha) I could be an architect! When I looked even further into my architecture exploration, I found abandoned insane asylums. Yes, that's where my newest obsession originated. Last year around this time to be in fact. I read more into these abandoned asylums, and it had a strong connection to my love of everything neurological. Except with a twist: psychiatry. Ever since then I want to be a psychiatrist and focus on schizophrenia and disassociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder).

Except, ever since I graduated from high school, I've been finding that I like other things too. I might want to be an artist, or a fashion designer, or a magazine editor, or a cosmetologist. Who knows?

That's the history of my exploration of career choices, and is it in no way ending soon :)

Also, instead of a picture of the day, I'm going to have a song of the day! Please, if you can, listen to the songs! Some you may like, some you may not like.
I also have an item of the week where I'm going to take pictures of something I have. Comments are appreciated!

What are your career plans? Are you still trying to make up your mind? Are you utterly confused?
This is another idea I got from Secret Doors (I'm sorry I'm such a copy-cat). You have good ideas :)

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 335px; height: 222px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWmmUjyD52KX66fDSiNixlo3fGl81Y8dh3V7tY00YaayEkF0d6Asdb0n117rMYyc5-WippZKw6udJUwKSG44eeMe2_hmT8fLV5Sn9b5hGiaCv2ARw1fY3lj8Pi7PiWPaSD6_4QPQH3Cvel/s400/i309814062_93803_6.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538358909194198290" />

If you really knew me, you would know that I'm scared of big dogs because of an incident that happened to my little cousin a few years back. My Dalmation Henry bit my little cousin (I think it was on accident) and broke his nose and tore his cheek up. Henry was put down.

If you really knew me, you would know that I have thousands of hopes and dreams that I wish I could accomplish. There's just too many.

If you really knew me, you would know how self-conscious I am. I always compare myself to others. I always feel as if everyone is superior to me.

If you really knew me, you would know how nervous I really am. I swear, I think I have an anxiety disorder. If I'm nervous enough, I start shaking or I go into an attack. Sometimes during these attacks I pull out my hair or I scratch my face. I roll up into a ball and cry.

If you really knew me, you would know that Chihuahuas and Boston Terriers are my favorite breeds of dogs.

If you really knew me, you would know that I once wanted to be a neurosurgeon. But I don't know anymore because I'm afraid it will get in the way of being the mother I want to be.

If you really knew me, you would know that if given the chance, I would probably win a French fry eating conests. I love French fries so much!

If you really knew me, you would know my deepest, darkest secret I have. Only one person knows about it, and I don't really plan on sharing it here.

If you really knew me, you would know I always contradict myself when thinking. It's extremely frustrating and I sometimes feel like going insane.

If you really knew me, you would know I have a strange obsession of insane asylums and mental disorders. It's just fascinating, all of it.

If you really knew me, you would know the detrimental things I have done to myself over the years. I do none of those things now, and I am actually trying to make my life more positive even though I do still get depressed from time to time.

If you really knew me, you would know that I love to write, and I almost never finish a working novel. I also write poetry.

If you really knew me, you would know that I had Hirschprung's Disease in the womb and had to be taken via C-Section to be flown in a helicopter to be operated on.

If you really knew me, you would know I was baptised Catholic. And during my baptism, I had this miracle "seizure" that basically cured me from the problems with Hirschprung's.

If you really knew me, you would know that I was a very outgoing child to the point I embarrased my parents :) Now, I'm not outgoing that much.

If you really knew me, you would know I think about anything and everything. I have my own philosophies and ideas.

If you really knew me, you would know I have a dream of coming up with a cure for epilepsy, and that I have even hypothesized on a possible cure.

If you really knew me, you would know that I am actually scared of horses. They are beautiful creatures, but they are so big! Also, male horses tend to bite my boyfriend's mom :O

If you really knew me, you would know that I still enjoy listening to B2K, NSync, Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears because old music reminds me of my innocense and my childish happiness.

If you really knew me, you would know that I do care about people, I do care about my parents, I do care about everyone around me. I love people, but then I hate them at the same time because they can be so hurtful.

If you really knew me, you would know that I would probably be a very positive person and I love happiness. I love happiness so much, it makes me cry. But of course, actions are better than words...or thoughts...right?

If you really knew me, you would know that I hate the society of my generation. I think it's trashy and impersonal. I wish I lived in the 40s or the 60s.

If you really knew me, you would know that I look at other girls at the mall and get jealous (or envious?) easily. Hollister/Abercrombie looking chicks make me jealous.

If you really knew me, you would know that in spite of those "pretty" girls, I sometimes admire how different I am. I'm not skinny, but I am curvy, which I appreciate. I look at 1940s pin-up models and old feminine artwork and admire the women for their curves.

If you really knew me, you would know I want my own art room in my house. I want easels, a mannequin, paints, everything artistic in this room. I also want a balcony coming from this room so I can look out at the rolling hills and the sun. Maybe even see a Victorian house in the distance?

If you really knew me, you would know I have tried things and done things that I am not proud of, but I don't regret. We all have had a past and done things, right? We're only human...

If you really knew me, you would know that I have always wanted to be a cheerleader. I have tried out twice and didn't make it. Both times because I flunked the tryouts for being so nervous. I would just stop in mid-chant or cheer, when during the tryout week, I could do the whole thing really good! It makes me so mad :O

If you really knew me, you would know that I have a "Look Book of Beauty and Fashion". It's pink and has clippings from magazines that I read. I have thought about becoming an editor of a magazine before, or a fashion designer.

If you really knew me, you would know that I hate the word, "cunt". I find it extremely vulgar and distasteful. I also don't really like fuck, but I find myself saying it a lot. I also make up my own words for curse words. Fuck would be, "freakin' lunatic', or shit would be, 'shmonkey', or 'oh shoot a monkey'.

If you really knew me, you would know that...well, I've never really confessed this before...I carry the drawings of the cartoon characters I have created with me everywhere and I lay them out to look at them when I am alone. I am an only child, and I have always been a little lonely, but laying these pictures out make me feel happier and not so much alone. I consider them my friends. O.O I sound insane.

That was the finale. Please keep negative thoughts to yourself :)
::Here are the Rules::
1)Thank and link back to who you recieved the award from (Moi)
2)Share 7 things about yourself!
3)Pass this along to 7 blogs you have recently discovered and enjoy.
4)Leave your recipients a note about the award you have generously given them :D

I really appreciate that, and btw, your name is very pretty :)

Okay, here's for the 7 things about MOI!

1) I absolutely LOVE thrill rides. Okay, I was watching Travel Channel one day, and a show about the nation's scariets and wildest rides came on. I so want to ride all of those rides. Yes, even the ones on top of that tower in Las Vegas. I love roller coasters, and I want to bungee-jump so bad!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 260px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwu4xyX19o3GlaO-shs2-y8-ucdyPlaPAPuBH_2HIV-FJal6obxOYSOFt7uFRbN6YGtl_jREMTKpvWbdsfSm-c3cfGmbZm2gVZ55QIiRPsn14zETMWs_WOSxPcO7fAT33WKS3n-kuu98yX/s400/insanity-stratosphere-thrill-ride.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538035573131735906" />

2) I was born with my right hand smaller than my left. It was how God created me, you know? I can do anything anyone else can do :)

3) So yes, that makes me left-handed, and we all know one thing about left-handed people: they are creative.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyiY2ZFrzy_eATU08-ClKPm7I9j0K1iNZjDwPoheP9j5qK2WIwY-oPDv0wOa9d_-KNYjs7yXEkp7ibf8zU2zvA6miRyYSGRtsDqIBTujBBJvty1r18ZMwjLze2haR2M_Ddto1Amth_rs0V/s400/color1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538035992728404674" />

4) I hate Hardees. Just looking at the menu makes me gain pounds. The smell of it. Ugh, I hate it. But I don't like most fast-food, so hey lol.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRBRgBndPuZozOc3rYwy0ij36Nr1wFsfjmsGf8WwmaRm-rOuJ0aUT4zDHYEgy5QVtJhybqam0G13msjsiD6Jq83Pb9JXOJDJywbuFkJQ05eCbZFtY_uFJJgTDt55USBhVfsbnJ-MtQLcG4/s400/19e14e1cd20f8390b715e164c636efe89cf35051787c638c979715980d38772f-2347048601.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538035344545344802" />

5) I really like recording songs and then making them sound like chipmunks. I think it's so cute! I also record little skits that I make and change them into chipmunk. I have done the chipmunk voice on me, my boyfriend, my mom, and my dad. It's quite funny.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgas1Y2mtlT3NXRbooltNXAPiaxjYIQLV54-mpaIfiXaL86_QVOaBlJcxoOF-A0FkZcQ4oG6YNKlrk2EXTItfGHi73t2ttZqD-UNysmmaFogEKSmMm8fwFoyEoZsZqv4XCiDqg16aRYMNbP/s400/tumblr_kuxf2wues31qzl1oeo1_500.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538035797261770626" />

6) I'm a freshman in college, and I go to a community college. I like it a lot, and it's very easy to cope with. However, I am looking very forward on going to the university!

7) I absolutely love sketch books, and you will probably always see me carrying one. This is where I create my cartoons and even my fashion designs. I have probably more than 10 sketchbooks over the past 8 years.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 291px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYLFnMMl8owjmwAbPwTzeet8Yr6eZvoJxdYVcCeH4g9XHdO0ZkYu99zyJs3ESuwTnJw5SB8mVlEd1Skc4IEu72pm9H7iV_H5m-X7cWTPczkdW6R9zLOL7Al_uhIJ0FqfxD-I8eP3rvIgwf/s400/Sketchbook.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538035694458613602" />
So, it's already November...how crazy is that? It feels as if it should be June! Well, to end the year, I have decided to make a list of things I should do BEFORE January 1. Let's start, shall we?

1) Get extraordinary (yet inexpensive) gifts for the people I care about this Christmas. I may go to Claire's or Victoria's Secret for my girl-friends, and of course TRACTOR SUPPLY (haha!) for the guys in my life. Just get them tools, it'll be all cool :) Can't say for my parents though, because I never know if they check up on here or not.
2) Clean my room!! This request has been unfufilled for about 19 years. I want my room clean, but so much goes on it's just too easy to throw the school books aside onto my dresser.
3) Get decorative pillows! I've been wanting pretty decorative pillows for awhile now, but I'm just so picky! There's so many of them, but I almost refuse to choose because there's so many pretty ones. By the way, isn't Pier 1 Imports just a riot?? I almost hyperventilate watching the commercials!! I love that place :)
4) Become a better blogger. For me, this is sorta-kinda hard to do because of school, but blogging makes me happy, so why shouldn't I practice my blogging skills? Blog blog blog...
5) Dress the way I want to!! I really have many unique and different things in my closet, but I have a phobia of coming out of my comfort zone. I usually wear jeans and a comfortable (BUT it's cute, I swear) shirt. I hardly wear scarves or my UGGS because for some reason, I just prefer to be simple. Yet then again, I don't! >.< Grr!
6) Help a loved one come over stress and illness. Actually, this is my first priority resolution, but this list is not in order of priority. I want to be able to make this special person feel happy again. Enough where they can do what they want and not let depression/stress get in the way. I want to start cooking with them, and get them out of the house.
7) Become happier and healthy. I have been depressed too, and sometimes I need a self-pick-me-up. I need to learn how to do this on my own instead of just staying droopy all the time. Eating right and taking advantage of positive situations would help! Thank goodness Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up! My favorite time of year!

Those are some resolutions to accomplish by the end of December, and by then, I will have all new resolutions. What are your end-of-the-year resolutions? It's NEVER too late to have resolutions!!

I just deleted my 3rd blog, Audrey Colleen: The Thoughts and Ramblings. I merged those posts with this blog because keeping up 3 blogs are just too much. Thanks!

Also, I'm going to have a picture of the day :)
A blog I follow, Secret Doors, made a very good evaluation of how I feel everyday. When you look in the mirror, what do you think of yourself? Do you think, "Ugh, I'm so ugly: I need to get a nose-job, or a chin-job, or even get your hair done?" I do. And apparently, so do others. I was honestly relieved to know that I wasn't the only one. It's a perceptual thing, I know.
Did you know that people with Anorexia Nervosa perceive themselves to look 20% larger than they really are? With the studies of psychologists, they have realized with tests that by taking an anorexic patient and letting them morph a photograph of themselves on how they see themselves, their body is 20% larger. Isn't that something? The way we look at ourselves is very perceptual...so how I see myself is not how others see me. But how do I get myself to "get" that?

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 347px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaOlC8di7ORe1p3LeuXrKiN_5SBBBYFB-lk37lbF06UKDegH34FDNsXrnODXkAaFrBw3p3ltrsW3mAPqDUGZtA9ADhmERHjdcn35WSV7U_wSvEhEpxcmb9_86ctT4HhSKtoMcvqGfXUu-r/s400/mirror.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537372515468154146" />

I look at myself in the mirror every morning. This is what I think:
1) Ugh, look at my hair...people say my hair is beautiful, but...my roots are coming in, and my natural color is a light brunette, which everyone loves, but I hate it. To me, my hair looks oily. My bangs don't fall in the right places (to me). My hair is too short (to me).
2) My eyebrows don't curve enough. I wish I had curvier eyebrows.
3) I have a double-chin!! Really? A double-chin? Ugh...
4) My body is too big... Look at my thighs, my arms, my butt... (But then again, when I see women in the 1940s or in old artwork, I appreciate my body because it is curvy in that way).
5) My right eye-lid droops lower than my left, ugh... but it makes me unique, right?

So I can see the good and bad in all of the "wrong" places about me, but why can't I see the good everyday? In different situations and clothing, I feel different ways. When I'm with my mom (who had the same body as me and was considered very pretty), or my boyfriend, I feel beautiful. I feel different from everyone else in a positive way.
But when I'm around the "popular kids" or the other really pretty girls, I feel ugly.
It also depends on clothes, too. This bothers me because I want to try new things, but when I get into them, I think...no, I can't do this I'm too scared. So I end up in jeans and a tee-shirt. I want to overcome this.

Also, when I talked to my psychology teacher about the problems I had with this, I told her how I felt that "everyone stares at me and judges me." She told me that it was only in my head and that it wasn't reality. But why is it hard for me to get that through? I feel as if it is reality, you know?

Why does being a teenage girl have to be so complicated? :O

With the self-evaluation questions that Secret Doors posted, I will hopefully learn to overcome this negative outlook. I am not going to post the questions here, as they are hers and not mine.

The store MaxRave?? I do! They have extremely cute and comfortably clothes for less! I bought this jacket from there, and it looks leather (around 100-200 dollars), but it was originall 24.99. With 50% off (another reason why I love MaxRave, they always have bargains!), it was 12.99!! Yay! I am going there for Christmas, when sales are in bloom.
How was everybody's Halloween?? Did you dress up? If you did, what did you dress up as? I wanted to dress up, but I couldn't find a straitjacket, haha J/K! I dressed up at my school Thursday as a hippy! I had a San Fransisco sign and everything, thanks to my mother :)
Well, I also had a really GREAT weekend!! Friday night, my dad and I went to The Haunted Gin near where we live, and it was so fun! These two women behind us were laughing so hard, most of the things that were supposed to scare us made us laugh!
Then, on Saturday, my dad and I rode towards Memphis and went to Bolivar! Guess what's in Bolivar... a mental hospital...ooohhh, scary. If you didn't know, I am extremely obsessed with old mental asylums. Specifically Kirkbride Buildings, which the one in Bolivar was, but it had its wings demolished. If you are interested, I have a few websites that may be useful for the curious:
Okay, just because I'm asking for new topic suggestions, does NOT mean I don't have ideas, lol. I would just like to know what you may be interested in for me to post. Be creative! I would really appreciate some feedback. Also, if you didn't know, I have a new blog called Audrey Colleen: The Thoughts and Ramblings. It will have everything I just think about. It will range from my art to other things I like or times when I just need to rant. Also, if you have nasty comments, please keep them to yourself, they're not pleasant.
So... I only have my permit, and I'm 19, right? Haha, so I have to take my mom to Wal-mart, and I have to drive the rest of the way to my college by myself, which for me is kind of scary because I'm not sure if I'm ready for it yet. Everything goes pretty smoothly, the drive there, the class, and getting out of the parking lot and onto the highway. As I get to the highway, I see some guy like waving his arms like a maniac at something, and I am so stupid I didn't catch on it was me! Then, I get out onto the highway and my COKE!! falls off the roof of my car and in front of someone to my left!! It was so funny, I laughed and the person driving looked over at me and smiled. I totally had so much on my mind, I forgot I had placed my Coca-Cola can ontop of my car! Who hasn't done that though? Oh, and state troopers scare me when I drive by myself... I feel as if they know... lol!
I have been watching Travel Channel for the past month now, and let me tell you, it's addicting. I love traveling, so it's sort of refreshing watching this channel when you're stressed out. It makes me feel as if I'm in a new and exotic place. But I've noticed, shouldn't it be called the Food and Travel Channel?? Almost all of the shows are based on food, and I think there's more to traveling than just eating. I also really love the Ghosts and Ghost Adventure shows (even though GA is a little too much)! I want to go to the Stanley Hotel so bad. Who else loves ghosts or Travel Channel??
Georgia beat Tennessee, and by the looks of things South Carolina is going to beat Alabama too!! This is not a good day... not a good day at all. Especially for my boyfriend who is in the Pride of the Southland Marching Band <3 I'm so proud of him! He works so hard.
Other than football drama, I had a great time with my best friend Keri ^.^ We ate Mexican (yummy) and went to this pretty cool little overstock store with unique little items :)
Well, to start this Saturday evening off, I'm going to present a few little football goodies for you to enjoy!

Have you seen these?! They're football shaped Tostitios!! How cute is that? And these Dr. Pepper bottles :P
These are just a couple of the SCE football leagues that I am presenting cute things for... If you would like me to present more on here for other football teams, PLEASE TELL ME :)

One more thing... I was flipping through my TV, and I noticed that on MTV now there's a show called Lingerie Football League. Umm, I thought MTV (MUSIC TELEVISION) was supposed to be about well, music. I'm sorry, but it seems to me that TV stations have no creativity anymore, so they put trash on there now. Just my opinion :O

We tried to set up the connection towards the company that distributes our signals, but that doesn't work. My laptop has never been able to get on the internet at my mom's house, and it stinks because I'm there all the time! I want to post some pretty pictures and things that I have recently found, but I can't :/ I'm on the internet at my college, and they don't allow unecessary picture saving on their systems. Oh, well :/ At least I can update on how things are going! I will soon update my whole page, and I can't wait! How have things been for ya'll since I haven't been on that much?Audreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12624207168273777817noreply@blogger.com0
